The Royal Thai Consulate-General of Thailand in Hong Kong SAR participated in the ceremony of presenting robes

Ms. Benjamas Tanvetyanont, Deputy Consul-General of the Royal Thai Consulate-General of Thailand in Hong Kong SAR, presided over the ceremony of presenting robes to monks at the end of Buddhist Lent at Hong Kong Dhammaram Temple  On 19th October 2014. A great number of Thai people living in Hong Kong including the Hong Kong people attended the ceremony. The merit making was also aimed at raising the fund for the reconstruction of a new hall of the temple (ubosot) which would be more convenient for the monks to convene Buddhist ceremonies including ordination ceremony in Hong Kong. Also, the hall will serve the Buddhists in Hong Kong as the classroom for Dhamma training. The reconstruction work is expected to be completed within April 2015.

The Deputy Consul-General also greeted the Thai people who attended the ceremony. Most of them were domestic helpers in Hong Kong who showed their unity by helping one another to organize the ceremony, cooking and donating food, performing cultural dance to pay respect to
Lord Buddha as well.
